Christmas shopping is the most important time of the year for many retailers. This year, the consulting company HUI expects that we will buy less – but that it will cost more. The equation is simple. Because inflation is so high, the money will be enough for less. Therefore, this year the company reports the expected sales in both fixed and variable prices. The forecast in fixed prices, i.e. when inflation has been taken into account, is that sales will decrease by 7 percent compared to December last year.
