The maintenance vessel M/S Hessuu was loaded with milk, eggs and rice, among other things.
The Eagle S vessel at anchor in Porvoo’s Kilpilahti receives a cargo replenishment today. M/S Hessu, which was already involved in the ship’s maintenance work yesterday, was leaving to take cargo to Eagle S on Friday morning at 8:30 from Helsinki’s Katajanokka.
Owner of M/S Hessu Heikki Harjanti was loading the platform. At least drinking water and food went along, as well as one garbage pallet.
– Nothing other than current maintenance has been ordered. Probably no one knows what will happen on the ship, Harjanti told .
According to him, Hessu’s people don’t get on the Eagle S ship, so Harjanti can’t say anything about its crew.
According to Harjanni, the authorities are constantly on board the Eagle S ship, and will probably go through the cargo brought by Hessu there as well. Eggs, milk, flour, rice and Iltalehten also include at least one box of microburgers.
Eagle S inspection may take several days
Director of Shipping at Traficom Sanna Sonninen said Thursday that an inspection of the Eagle S could take several days.
– The inspection is very comprehensive. First, we check the up-to-dateness of the ship’s documents and certificates. After that, the inspection progresses to inspecting technology and operating methods. A visual inspection will also be done, Sonninen said.
Traficom can stop the use of the vessel until any deficiencies or defects have been corrected. The results of the inspection will be announced after its completion.
