Attention, follow spoiler!

The Flash: When and how does the story continue in part 2?
The good news is: A screenplay for The Flash 2 already exists. It was written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who had plenty of horror experience with The Walking Dead and two Conjuring films. According to Variety, this version of The Flash 2 will see the return of Sasha Calle’s Supergirl and Michael Keaton’s Batman. Warner officials have also signaled that they are willing to work with Ezra Miller in the future, despite past controversies. The Flash star has played the role since 2016.
Whether The Flash 2 really comes or not depends on the success of the first part. The Wrap sources say the film needs to be at least as successful as The Batman for Warner to consider a sequel. So we’re talking about a worldwide gross of around 770 million US dollars.
With or without The Flash 2: Complete DC Reboot is coming
The bad news is: DC is headed for a major reboot. Blue Beetle (August 2023) and Aquaman and Lost Kingdom (December 2023) are the last DCEU films to hit theaters. After that, director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran launch a whole new universe, the DC Universe (DCU) is called.
In January 2023, Gunn announced the first ten projects of the DCU officially launched in 2025 by Superman: Legacy. There is no sign of The Flash 2 in the current plan. So the film has to be convincing across the board. However, the current cinema numbers point to a flop.
All DCU projects planned so far:
The spin-off series Peacemaker, derived from The Suicide Squad, is the only legacy DCEU project with a secure future in the DCU. Gunn has announced that he will be handling Season 2 after Superman: Legacy.
The Flash has been running since June 15, 2023 in German cinemas. The coming days and weeks will tell if the film finds an audience and qualifies for a DC renewal. We will keep you informed about all important updates.
