No DC characters have been shown from such different perspectives in recent years as the Joker and Harley Quinn. Now the notorious psycho duo are in their most surprising roles. The first trailer for the anime series Suicide Squad Isekai shows the two fan-favorites as invaders in a fantasy realm. Complete with dragons, knights and bloodthirsty monsters.

New DC series starring Joker and Harley Quinn is in extremely capable anime hands
Suicide Squad Isekai was recently announced at Anime Expo 2023. In the series the Joker and Harley Quinn from Gotham enter a fantasy world, which, judging by the trailer, they stir up a lot. The Japanese word Isekai in the title means something like “another world“, denoting a literary genre in which real-world characters explore a fantasy world or parallel universe.
Director Eri Osada is responsible for the anime adaptation of the DC characters among other things, participated in the hit series Jujutsu Kaisen. The animation is done by WIT Studio (Attack on Titan).
When is the new DC series coming?
There is no concrete start date for Suicide Squad Isekai, we are counting 2024 with the release. Thanks to the visual freedom of animation technology, DC fans can expect what is possibly the craziest version of the Joker and Harley Quinn.
