Yorgos Lanthimos has no interest in normality. At least that’s what movies like The Lobster or The Favorite show that are hilariously bizarre. He has now produced the sci-fi fairy tale Poor Things with Emma Stone. And the trailer is terrific.

Sci-fi fairy tale transforms Emma Stone into Frankenstein’s monster

Bella Baxter (Stone) is from a groundbreaking experiment by the visionary scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe) emerged. When his care confines her, she seizes the opportunity and begins to travel the world with sleazy lawyer Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo).

From historical revisionism to fisheye optics, the first trailer for Poor Things showcases several of Lanthimos’ trademarks. It is a matter of his first film in four years after The Favourite.

Poor Things is supposed to be on October 12, 2023 come to the cinema. In addition to Stone, Dafoe and Ruffalo, the cast includes Ramy Youssef (Mr. Robot) and Jerrod Carmichael (Bad Neighbors).
