Fantasy fans get their money’s worth with Amazon Prime Video. After the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Wheel of Time and Carnival Row, the streaming service will soon have the next project to start. It is an adaptation of Wolfgang Hohlbein’s 1989 cult novel Der Greif.
Amazon has now released the first teaser for Der Greif. It not only gives a first glimpse of what awaits us in the German fantasy series, but also reveals the start date.

The action of the fantasy series takes place in the 1990s and follows the three outsiders Mark (Jeremias Meyer), Memo (Zoran Pingel) and Becky (Lea Drinda) from the city of Krefelden. One day the young people are revealed to fantastic world of the black tower. Here, the monstrous griffin rules a nightmarish realm with dark magic and has enslaved all living beings for centuries.
Fighting monsters? That’s actually too much for the young trio. However, when Mark’s brother Thomas (Theo Trebs) is kidnapped into the world of the griffin, they have no other choice. You must embark on a journey of horrors and the Reign of the Eater of Worlds put an end to.

Behind the project is the production company W&B Television, which produced the successful series Dark, Der Pass and 4 Blocks, among others. Director Sebastian Marka and author Erol Yesilkaya, who recently contributed screenplays to the genre series Sløborn, Hausen and Souls, occupy the post of showrunner.
When will Der Greif appear on Amazon Prime Video?
As Amazon officially announced with the teaser trailer, Der Greif will be available from the May 26, 2023 at Prime Video be visible. The first season consists of 6 episodes, all of which will be available right at launch. of which the first three will be released at once. New episodes appear on a weekly basis until the finale on April 21st.
