Kiekko-Espoo showed Helsinki IFK the place of the locker in the final opening of the Women’s Ice Hockey League.

The Espoo players won their home game 5-0 for the first time against HIFK, who will play in the finals. Three victories are required for the championship.

Kiekko-Espoo started the match strongly. In the first installment Emmi Leinonen and Emmi Rakkolainen took Kiekko-Espoo’s 2–0 lead with their hits.

In the second installment, a defender familiar from the Finnish national team Nelli Laitinen made a real volley to the HIFK network. Laitinen transported the puck from his own end through the HIFK defense to the finish.

In the third installment, Kiekko-Espoo continued its paint production.

HIFK got the goal of Kiekko-Espoo Tiia Pajarinen employed 34 combatants. Still, the team was not allowed to create dangerous situations.

HIFK: n Krista Parkkonen enjoyed the intense intensity of the game, but admits the team wasn’t ready in the beginning.

– They weren’t ready for their style of play right at the start of the game. We were able to create good goals, it was positive in this game. This loss needs to be reset quickly. We want to show the place of the closet in the next match.

The final series continues on Monday. Rajahuhta believes HIFK will be ready for Monday’s game.

– They were already developing their game as the match progressed. They don’t have very many players who have played in the finals. Now the excitement of the first game has been shed off. Kiekko-Espoo must also be ready tomorrow.
