After the huge success of The Traitors – Trust No One! it was quickly clear that there would be a new season. The reality crime format is even coming back with a particularly spooky theme: Halloween. Now the first three candidates called those who dare to embark on the adventure. Here you can find out who Sonja Zietlow has invited to her castle.
Bachelorette and influencers: They are part of The Traitors
RTL is now announcing the first of the 16 celebrity participants.
Gerda Lewis
Gerda Lewis is a full-time influencer. But most people probably know her from her role as The Bachelorette. In 2019, she handed out roses on the dating show. A year earlier, she had already faced Heidi Klum on Germany’s Next Top Model. So she has already gained TV experience. But is she fit enough to hunt down the traitors? Or will she become one herself?
Jessica Haller
Jessica Haller is the second Bachelorette in the group. In 2014, Jessica was a candidate on The Bachelor herself before handing out roses as Bachelorette in 2017. She has been happily married to her runner-up, Johannes Haller, for several years now and the two have a child together. Jessica is currently working as an influencer and will shake up The Traitors.
Helge Mark
Helge Mark has already gained experience as a theater actor and in a few films, but the reality format is new territory for him. Helge is probably best known to the general public for his TikTok videos. He made a name for himself on the social media platform. With his acting talent, he will certainly be able to fool one or two candidates.
“Please don’t turn it into a trash format”: Fans are skeptical
The announcement of the first three candidates has caused discontent among some fans. They are afraid that too many influencers and people from trash TV could destroy the format. Many of them have expressed their concerns:
I hope not all influencers come in now. Last time it was a great mix of interesting characters. I think that would otherwise ruin the format.
Another user also expressed his anger on the show’s Instagram account: “I have no idea why every good format has to be destroyed by influencers.” Another wishes “Please don’t turn this into a trash format”.
But Gerda Lewis gives the community the all-clear and gives a little foretaste. “Just wait and see. I can tell you, we influencers are not ‘ruining’ the season.”
TV & Streaming: When is The Traitors on?
The Halloween special of The Traitors will from 10 October on RTL+ will be available for streaming. A new episode will be released on the streaming service every week. The first episode will be broadcast on the same day at 8:15 p.m. on RTL.
