#TheLittleMermaid: Charming but incredibly inconsistent. Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy & Javier Bardem poured their hearts and souls into a film that cannot escape its animated heritage. Best when he leans into freaky madness, but he limits his fantasy elements for no reason.

It may look visually harsh under the sea, but THE LITTLE MERMAID finally recreates some of the magic of the original through its timeless story and cast. Daveed Diggs & Melissa McCarthy are highlights but Halle Bailey is the one who amazes with her beautiful vocals and empathetic charm

#TheLittleMermaid is filled with some great performances from Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy, but it’s mostly a paint-by-numbers remake that doesn’t do as well as the animated masterpiece.

Disney’s #TheLittleMermaid is definitely one of the better live-action adaptations. Halle Bailey showers emotion on Ariel and I got goosebumps watching her. Ursula steals scenes from Melissa McCarthy and Sebastian from Daveed Diggs all the time.

Adorable but inconsistent, #TheLittleMermaid doesn’t deliver the magic of the animated classic, but there are plenty of creative touches from Rob Marshall to get audiences’ boats afloat. Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy are great. Daveed Diggs and Awkwafina provide solid comic relief.

From the May 25, 2023 you can convince yourself of the real film. Then the new Ariel, the mermaid starts in our cinema.
