Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania plays an important role in the MCU: It is the first feature film with Kang the Conquerer as the main villain. This was already introduced in the Disney + series Loki and is supposed to be the new big antagonist of the Avengers. It’s even mentioned in the title of Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty.

Kang is played by Jonathan Majors, against whom several abuse allegations have recently been made. How Marvel is handling the situation, is currently not clear. Actually, Majors was set for more MCU projects. In view of the latest developments, however, it is quite conceivable that the role will be filled again.

Industry insiders expect Marvel to release a statement soon. Last but not least, the second season of Loki is to be released on Disney+ this year. In this takes Kang a supporting role as seen in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
