The launch of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is getting closer. In less than two months we can finally return to Middle-earth. For this reason, a long trailer has now been published, which gives us an insight into the large-scale project. Amazon Prime spared no expense or effort.
Five seasons are planned for the Lord of the Rings series. The massive undertaking should have a budget of approx one billion US dollars devour. For now, though, The Rings of Power has to prove it’s worth sticking with. The new trailer is visually stunning and shows us more of new and old characters.

The Rings of Power is set before the events of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films. Strictly speaking, the series takes you into Second Age of Middle-earth, where the eponymous rings are forged. Accordingly, a key figure is the elves smith Celebrimbor, embodied by Charles Edwards.
In addition, we encounter in the series some familiar characters, which we have already encountered at a later point in the history of Middle-earth. These include young versions of Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and Isildur (Maxim Baldry), who famously falls into the Ring of Rulers.
When does the Lord of the Rings series start on Amazon?
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power opens on September 2, 2022 on Amazon Prime. The first season consists of eight episodes in total. However, these do not come in one battle. Instead, the streaming service relies on weekly releases. The prelude was directed by Jurassic World 2 director JA Bayona.
