If the latest news around Ubisoft has not been very exciting in recent weeks, with in particular a rather serious financial crisis and games which are both postponed and canceled, the publisher would however be working hard around the Far Cry license. It must be said that the license is undoubtedly one of the most lucrative with Assassin’s Creed, although sales of Far Cry 6 were disappointing overall (no figures have been revealed by Ubisoft to date). However, if we are to believe the indiscretions of certain journalists, a Far Cry 7 and a multiplayer Far Cry would currently be in preparation. The first insider to spill the beans is none other than Tom Henderson, who went to some indiscretions on the Insider Gaming website. He explains that these two Far Cry titles were supposed to exist as one and the same game, but that it was decided to make two different experiences, one single player and another fully multiplayer with a regular follow-up, just to stall with what is done in the competition, Call of Duty Warzone not to mention it.

Also according to Tom Henderson, the single-player Far Cry 7 would be known as Project Maverick and development would be operated on the Ubisoft Montreal side – both projects are believed to have heavy Ubisoft Montreal involvement. According to several people who worked on the project and who wish to remain anonymous, Far Cry 7 has changed its vision several times over the past year. Tom Henderson states that the game would be set in the Alaskan wilderness, with a survival-based experience, knowing that he has screenshots that he was asked not to reveal publicly, where the you can see chests to loot and extraction areas. For the time being, we must be content with these few snippets of information which are also subject to change, because nothing tells us if these are not preparatory sketches which have since been abandoned. Last element however, according to information from Henderson, these new Far Cry would not see the light of day before at least 2025. We still have a few years ahead of us.
