That’s what Masters of the Air is all about

Masters of the Air is the third series in a kind of World War II cycle. Band of Brothers (2001) dealt with the Easy Company, which was deployed in Western Europe on the Allied side. This was followed in 2010 by The Pacific, which contrasted the war of movement in France with the jungle nightmare on the other side of the world. Masters of the Air is about the 100th Bombardier Group of the US Air Force, which flew over 300 combat missions on the continent from bases in England.

The aviators in their fortresses above the clouds had until the end of the war against Nazi Germany to cope with enormously high losses.

The story of the series is based on the book of the same name by Donald L. MIller, this time adapted by John Orloff. Well-known names such as James Bond director Cary Joki Fukunaga, Dee Rees (Mudbound) and Tim Van Patten (Game of Thrones) will take their place in the director’s chair.
