From April 11 to June 1, 2022, Johnny Depp was on trial against Amber Heard. Meanwhile, there was speculation as to the form in which the media spectacle would take place in film and television is processed. One feature film has already been shot: Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial is scheduled for release in the US at the end of Monday.

The project was developed exclusively for the US streaming service Tubi and implemented at top speed. Hardly has the ink dried in the history books than director Sara Lohman unrolls the case again. As Variety reports, the actors who embody Depp and Heard are now known.

In addition, Melissa Marty (Station 19) and Mary Carrig (Law & Order True Crime) were hired. Marty is playing Camille Vasquez, Johnny Depp’s attorney. Carring takes on the role of Elaine Bredehoftwho represented Heard in court. The film was written by comedy writer Guy Nicolucci.

Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial celebrates on September 30, 2022 its premiere, around four months after the end of the trial. Apparently, Tubi couldn’t react quickly enough with a film to the legal dispute between the two Hollywood stars. It is unclear when and how the film will come to Germany.
