The first aid trucks reached the besieged area in the capital of Sudan – the war lasted almost two years | News in brief

In Sudan’s capital Khartoum, the first wartime aid truck convoy reached the southern part of the city this week.

28 trucks from different aid organizations were able to reach South Khartoum, transporting food and medicines. In the area reached by the trucks, people are suffering from famine, as in many other areas in Sudan.

The parties to the civil war, which began in April 2023, have continuously besieged the city and prevented aid trucks from reaching civilians.

– Rekat was arrested many times, Unicef’s representative in Sudan commented to the news agency AFP.

Aid organizations have accused the warring parties of using hunger as a weapon. Sudan is located in Egypt’s southern neighbor in Africa.
