The Oceana swimming pool in Gothenburg has caught fire again.
Just before 10pm on Tuesday, the rescue service was again forced to call for reinforcements.
– It has flared up. It is burning with open flames and there is some smoke development, so we have sent extra forces to take care of this, says Lars Larsson at the rescue service’s command center.
The bath house caught fire yesterday morning. But since the emergency services could not reach everywhere, they have not succeeded in extinguishing the fire.
– There is still a racial risk, says Lars Larsson.
22 people were injured in the fire and one man is still missing. At a press conference on Tuesday morning, Liseberg commented on the incident.
– Since the information has reached us that a colleague who worked on behalf of Liseberg is missing, our thoughts go primarily to his family, says Andreas Andersen, CEO at Liseberg.
The racial risk has also made the work of the emergency services more difficult on Tuesday.
Handled as a workplace accident
The construction company NCC, which is the main contractor on the construction, stated earlier on Monday that the fire started “in connection with a work phase”. After another meeting, they are now backing away from the previous statement. They must investigate what has happened.
