Every morning, the person on duty at the Rescue Center in Bergslagen sends an email with flight assignments for Värmland’s flight club, which is responsible for the fire flight in the county. And it is needed. After the recent hot and dry weather, Anders Magnusson says that it is extremely dry in the grounds.
– We have so far discovered and guided the rescue service to 3-4 fires. Normally we don’t fly anything before midsummer. Now we make up to six flights per day, says Anders Magnusson.
And Anders Magnusson actually thinks the situation is a bit scary.
– The risk is that there will be a major fire, especially in northern Värmland where there is almost only forest.
