In the press release sent out by Västervik municipality, however, they point out that there is still reason to be careful when burning forest and land because there can be local variations when it comes to drought.
– We have had a dry start to the summer with extremely high fire risk values. But SMHI’s forecast now says that the risks of fires are moderate and therefore a fire ban is no longer justified, says Peter Helge, operational manager at the rescue service in Västervik municipality.
In the municipality of Västervik, there is also still a fire ban within the detailed planned area until September 29.
In Kronoberg county, the fire ban was lifted in all municipalities on Friday, June 30.
