In the ice hockey NHL, the Carolina Hurricanes faced Florida on their home ice. Florida, which clearly knocked down Montreal yesterday, was just a mouthful for the wild-spirited home team, which won its tenth consecutive victory with goals of 4–0. This is a new winning streak record in Carolina club history.

The Finns were in a strong mood, as the undisputed star of the match was hard at work with the home team’s goal Antti Raanta. He already saved his second consecutive shutout by making 19 saves. The Finn saved his first clean sheet of the season earlier this week against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Finnish goalkeeper was awarded as the number one player of the match. The Finn, who gave an interview after the match in front of an ecstatic home crowd, couldn’t get a word in when the fans cheered wildly. This was the second time in Raanta’s career that he played two consecutive clean sheets in the NHL.

The hosts opened the scoring in the eighth minute of the first period by Stefan Noesen with an overpowering hit. Noesen struck Sebastian Ahon post shot into the goal.

In the second round Teuvo Teräväinen scored his third goal of the season. Teräväinen’s success was the second in the last five games for Teräväinen, who has been playing a slow season in light of the power points.

Carolina punished Florida for chipping, as the first three goals were power plays. Captain Alexander Barkov announced after the Montreal win that his team and himself would keep the same pace, but both Barkov and the entire Florida team were far from this against the top team in the series.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi recorded an assist in Teräväinen’s goal and scored himself in the final set with a wonderful wrist shot.

A hit to Puljujärvi next to the number one center

The Edmonton Oilers beat the Seattle Kraken in the away bowl. Jesse Puljujärvi gave the visiting team a 4–0 lead in the opening set. The goal was only the third of the season for the Finnish striker.

Puljujärvi, who is having a difficult season, was able to play in the match in Edmonton’s first chain Connor McDavid’s alongside. The Finn, who played just under 14 minutes, was active in the usual style in the hair-raising game and shot a tap box. No fewer than five shots on goal were recorded for Oulu’s Kärppien club.

For Edmonton, the win was the second in a row. The team rose to sixth place in the Western Conference.

Pärssinen and Granlund for power points

The Nashville Predators visited California and beat the host team Anaheim Ducks 6–1.

Anaheim’s Finnish defender Urho Vaakanainen opened his scoring record for the season when he recorded an assist on his team’s only hit. The opening hit of Vaakanainen’s NHL career was close in the situation, as the shot hit the attacker of Sam Carrick through the back to the goal.

Nashville Juuso Pärssinen recorded two assists in the match and to Mikael Granlund one. From Granlund’s trademark shot, the puck was able to hit the goal in the final moments of the match by a teammate already familiar from his Minnesota days Nino Niederreiter. Pärssinen has finished his rookie season with nine power points in 20 matches. Juuse Saros made 26 saves in Nashville’s goal.

Away team Filip Forsberg scored one goal and two assists in the 600th game of his NHL career.

The New Jersey Devils defeated the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2. The only Finnish points of the match were taken by New Jersey Erik Haulawho recorded an assist by Jack Hughes from the goal of the deciding set.

of Pittsburgh Kasperi Kapanen the evening was difficult again. The Finnish forward logged just under nine minutes of playing time, took one save and shot three times. The loss was the fourth in a row for Pittsburgh.
