Finland won the EC gold in the trap women’s team competition. Finnish men were fourth.
Finland won gold in the trap women’s team competition at the European Championships in Osijek, Croatia with a team The fairy tale Mäkelä-Nummela, Nora Antikainen and Pug Veromaa.
Finland beat Slovakia in the final with 6-4 points. Satu Mäkelä-Nummela was the best Finn of the day. He missed just four pucks out of a hundred.
After the individual competition, Mäkelä-Nummela called her shooting “bullshit” and did not shoot Monday’s pair competition.
– Let’s have some strawberry fun, he laughed after his good shooting as a fresh European champion.
In Veromaa, the competition did not go as well as possible all the time.
– The shooting was nothing but a faulty series. Fortunately, after the start of the final, things went better than a few days ago. Now it’s a pretty great feeling and a great way to end the season!
Men’s trap team Juho Mäkelä, Eemil Pirttisalo, Jukka Laakso placed fourth. Italy beat Finland 6–4 in the bronze medal match.
