The Finnish company Remedy’s game Alan Wake 2 has won three awards at the industry’s most significant event in the United States. It was awarded for Best Storytelling, Art Direction and Game Direction.

The Game Awards, characterized as the gaming industry’s Oscar gala, took place on Thursday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Alan Wake 2 was nominated in no less than eight categories.

The game of the year award went to Baldur’s Gate 3 from the Belgian Larian Studios. All the winners of the different series you can find here.

Described as a survival horror, the success of Alan Wake 2 was expected, as the game has received rave reviews around the world since its release in October.

The exact budget of Alan Wake 2 has not been announced, but it is estimated to reach at least 50 million euros. This would make the game one of Finland’s most expensive cultural products of all time.

Remedy’s hit game was made for four years. The protagonists of the story-driven, atmospheric single-player game are a detective writer experiencing supernatural things and an FBI agent investigating murders in a small town.

The game stars, among other things Ilkka Villi, Martti Suosalo and by Peter Franzé.

Alan Wake 2 has been released for Playstation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and PC.
