What is the zombie trilogy about?

The zombie action film Train to Busan, which was released in 2016, is one of the most successful South Korean films in recent years. The story of a fund manager forced to realign his priorities as a zombie apocalypse unfolds is richer driving action and targeted social criticism.

The animated prequel Seoul Station was released shortly before the theatrical release of the Korean blockbuster depicts the first hours of the zombie apocalypsewhen an injured homeless man drew attention in a subway station.

The trilogy’s finale (so far) is Peninsula, which combines the Heist movie with zombie action. The action takes place four years after the events of Train to Busan. The focus is on a former soldier who escaped from contaminated Korea. However, gangsters make him one Offer he can’t refuse: He is said to travel back to the devastated city of Incheon with a team to recover $20 million worth of cash. There are not only the zombies in his way, but also some survivors.

Unfortunately, Peninsula is a disappointing conclusion to the horror series

Peninsula is primarily something for completists and doesn’t come close to Train to Busan in terms of characters and tension. However, you can’t accuse the film of being boring either. If you want to see simple zombie action in an unfamiliar subject, Peninsula can give you a chance.

You don’t have to have seen Train to Busan or Seoul Station to understand it.
