The final Super Mario trailer is here and it

The world is still discussing the series adaptation of The Last of Us, at the latest from April 5, 2023 but another video game franchise will be on everyone’s lips. That’s when the Super Mario Bros. movie starts, which lets the legendary plumber and his friends compete against the mighty Bowser on the big screen.

The new trailer for the Super Mario Bros. movie teases an epic Lord of the Rings-style battle

In the new and last trailer for the cinema spectacle, we get a lot on our eyes. Lots of fan service and references to popular games in the franchise, like the Rainbow Race Track from Mario Kart* or a chilling ghost sequence like from Luigi’s Mansion.

At the same time, there is also a foretaste of the war that will break out in the kingdom of mushrooms. The Super villain Bowser is assembling his mighty troops, which looks like a cute Nintendo take on the orc armies from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. No wonder, after all, this is also about the attempted overthrow of a kingdom.

Whether Mario will deliver an Aragorn-style spine-chilling speech in front of Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and the rest of his comrades-in-arms remains to be seen.

Marvel Star Speaks Plumber: That’s What the Super Mario Bros. Movie Is About

Mario is actually just a plumber from Brooklyn – who, by the way, is spoken by Marvel favorite Chris Pratt in the original. But through a crazy set of circumstances, he suddenly finds himself with the Princess Peach and a talking mushroom named Toad on a journey that takes him through the kingdom of mushrooms.

Together the three try Mario’s brother Luigi to find. Only then can they save the world from the ruthless, fire-breathing Bowser who wants to overthrow the kingdom. Fans of the franchise can look forward to lots of references from almost 40 years of video game history.
