Bungie released a gameplay preview event for the upcoming DLC “The Final Shape” this evening on April 9, 2024. This revealed new content for Destiny 2, including combinable Ultis and exotic class items. You can find out more about this from us.
What did Bungie reveal? Bungie revealed new gameplay elements for “The Final Shape” in an evening preview event for Destiny 2. It was a edited video of various gameplay scenes and opinions from the developers regarding the upcoming content that players can look forward to.
The biggest innovations include combinable light and darkness abilities and exotic class items. We’ll now go into detail and explain what you can expect if you missed the video.
New class merges light and darkness
What’s new in The Final Shape? Bungie has come up with something new for the Guardians to make them even more powerful – Prismatic. The Prismatic ability lets you mix talents from other Ultis and create something much more powerful.
In the past, Guardians have asked themselves why they can’t combine Supers to create even more unusual builds. With “The Final Shape” you will soon be able to do that.
Bungie wanted to make the Guardians even more powerful than they already are. Builds are then possible in which, for example, warlocks can carry out a stasis gun and solar melee combat. With this expansion option, Guardians should be able to build even more unusual builds.
On top of that, there is a new powerful talent – Transcending. Guardians get two new bars under their Super Bar. These two represent light and darkness.
When these are filled, Guardians can throw a special ability at their opponents that combines two elements. With Warlocks it was stasis and emptiness. If the Warlock combines both, a vortex grenade is created that freezes opponents and pulls them towards them. However, that wasn’t all.
What can the exotic class items do? You read that right, the exotic class items should return. This time, however, not from the parties of the last city, but from the traveler himself.
This is a nice cosmetic item for any class with a lot of power, as these items can have exotic effects from well-known Exos. So it’s like you’re actually carrying two exotic items.
Bungie explained it as if the exotic class item was “stealing” effects from known exos of the class. It’s not known how this will work, but it sounds like you’ll have to use luck to get the class item with the desired effect.
So you probably won’t be able to infuse Exos into the cloaks, characters or ribbons to transfer the desired effects.
It remains to be seen how Bungie has designed the new content and how it will affect Guardians. Are you excited about the new content or is there nothing for you? Let us find out in the comments!
