At least eight people were wounded on Thursday in South Korea, when the country’s Air Force fighter accidentally dropped eight bombs in the civilian area during the exercise.
The incident happened in the northern part of the country in the city of Pocheon.
According to Reuters, four people were seriously injured in explosions. In addition, the bombs caused destruction to the residential buildings and the local church.
According to the Air Force, “exceptionally, the FIM 84 bombs were released from the Air Force’s KF-16 aircraft and fell outside the prescribed firing range”.
The Air Force said they deeply apologized for the case.
