The fight for summer substitutes is intensifying – Berg municipality is offering 10,000 kroner

Employees in elderly care, home care and LSS really need their summer vacation. This is emphasized in all the county’s municipalities. The municipalities need between about 30 substitutes in Ragunda to 400 in Östersund municipality.

Welcome uneducated

The municipalities are happy to receive young uneducated people who are interested in working with people. An untrained summer temporary worker receives approximately SEK 21,500. The bonus offered by five municipalities is in addition to the salary.

– The bonus will ensure the availability of substitutes this summer, says Jessica Granqvist, head of the Resource Center in Berg.

– And we hope that some want to continue in care, that they enjoy it and want to stay, says Jessica Granqvist, adding that just anyone cannot jump in as a substitute

– You must like working with people and be able to handle the Swedish language, she says.

Permanent employees

Several of the county’s municipalities must offer compensation to permanent employees who choose to move parts of their vacation. Employees can sell weeks to the municipality.
