The fight for ministerial positions in the Trump administration

Is on the right wing’s wish list • Should make the US more “Christian and family-oriented”

Donald Trump has promised a jump start in politics – where there is speculation about everything from mass deportations of illegal immigrants to a ban on pornography.

Meanwhile, both old allies and new friends are vying for Trump’s favor for cabinet posts, and several names have been mentioned as possible candidates.

Among others, the former foreign minister Mike Pompeo is seen as a matter of course, but is now predicted to become defense minister.

Former German ambassador and Fox News contributor Richard Grunell is believed to be able to become foreign minister. Meanwhile, hedge fund billionaire Scott Besant is said to be interested in the finance minister role.

Acclaimed campaign manager Susie Wiles is tipped to become the new White House chief of staff.

The anti-vaxxer gets a “big role” in the health field

Another obvious gunner in the new team is Kennedy scion Robert F Kennedy junior, who has previously been criticized for spreading conspiracy theories about vaccines and who has said there are links between vaccines and autism.

Kennedy dropped out of the presidential race a few months ago, choosing instead to lend his support to the Trump campaign. Since then, he has been promised a “major role” in the health field. During a campaign rally in Arizona, Trump said Kennedy will be allowed to do “anything he wants” and that he will work on “health and women’s health.”

According to what Trump himself has said, the entrepreneur and multi-billionaire Elon Musk will be given a role that deals with streamlining the state apparatus.

Even before the election results, it was clear that the billionaire asked Trump that some of his closest associates at the space company Space X would be given top positions in the Trump administration, according to The New York Times.

Two sources tell the newspaper that Musk wants, among other things, to bring people into the Ministry of Defense.

The “Project 2025” think tank

Several names for the Trump administration have been collected by the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation in something called Project 2025. Something that Trump has distanced himself from.

– Project 2025, I have never read it, I don’t want to read it, because then I can be honest with you, he said in a speech during the election campaign.

One of the reasons behind Trump’s distancing is that Project 2025 does not only contain names of reliable Republicans. It is also a more than 900-page long policy document that will make the United States more “Christian and family-oriented”.

Conservative groupings

The proposals presented in the document deal, among other things, with increased political control of the state apparatus,
reduced opportunities for abortion, reduced corporate tax and a ban on pornography. However, it is still unclear which parts are actually rooted in Trump.

– It is clear that there are conservative groups and people around him, who will now take the opportunity to try to push through various conservative issues. So I absolutely believe that you should keep an eye on Project 2025, this rather thick manual for how to make the US more conservative, to see which path is about to be staked out in the US, says lawyer Fredrik Bergman Evans.
