Heiskanen’s 60th point of the season came right at the beginning of the match with a power play goal. Heiskanen shot and the puck bounced through the end plex into the goal. The hit was the Finn’s 11th this season.
Dallas came even with less than a second before the end of the regular game time By Jamie Benn on the finish line. Heiskanen got the second assist in the goal. However, Kraken eventually took the match by Adam Larsson with an overtime goal.
Heiskasen now has 11 points. The Finn’s single-season points record has improved dramatically, as before this season it was 36 points.
Among Finnish defenders, the most efficient of all time in one season is Reijo Rotsalainen. He scored 73 points in the 1984–1985 season. Heiskanen is now fourth in the statistics, two points away from third place Risto from Siltase.
Heiskanen is in a great mood, because in the last 11 games he has scored no less than 19 points. He is currently on pace for 69 points.
The Stars have 11 regular season games left, so the 70-point mark is possible if the 23-year-old Heiskanen stays healthy. Only a Swede has broken 70 points among the Finnish packs.
