The fence increases security ahead of the CL qualifiers

Two Swedes were shot dead in a terrorist attack in Belgium.
Then BK Häcken has increased its security ahead of its Champions League qualification.
– We have screwed up some parts, says deputy club manager Malin Fahlén to the Football Channel.

BK Häcken plays Champions League qualifiers on Wednesday. Then they face Dutch Twente away from home.

Due to the terrorist act and the two Swedes who died in Belgium, the club has increased its security around the match.

– We have, of course, included an increased security approach in our planning since before, considering the increased level of terrorist threat we live with and the recommendations that have gone out in the past from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the RF before traveling abroad as a Swede, says deputy club manager Malin Fahlén to The soccer channel.

“Update our risk analysis”

Exactly what was done, the club does not want to go into.

– After yesterday’s terrorist act in Brussels, we had a meeting last night and continued in the morning to update our risk analysis based on the new situation and see if and what we should screw up to further increase our vigilance and our preparations. We are trying to follow the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ recommendations for Swedes abroad, to observe a high degree of caution, so we have screwed up some parts.

Is it in consultation with SvFF and Uefa?
– We have consulted with both Swedish and Dutch police, Uefa and Twente’s security organization. There we have had meetings to gather as much information as possible in order to make as well-founded decisions as possible.

How are the players taking this?
– We gathered the entire squad this morning to above all give information from our side, but also to capture any questions and concerns based on the current situation. Feelings and thoughts are always individually scattered in a team, but our picture is that the players are calm and collected and feel safe to be able to fully focus on the task at hand, concludes Fahlén.

BK Häcken plays the return match against Twente on Wednesday afternoon.
