PWHL’s Finnish players Noora Tulus and Ronja Savolainen are part of the Finnish team.
The composition of the women’s hockey A national team in the Czech Republic 6.–8. for the final tournament of the EHT season to be played in February published on Monday in Helsinki.
Head coach of the Women’s Lions Juuso Toivolan the lineup named is largely different from the Tampere EHT tournament last December.
– The team now has 11 different players. It’s a good indication that we have players to choose from. The competition is tough, Toivola states.
There are no first-timers in the team this time. There are players from the Aurora League, SDHL and the Swiss League. Two players from the PWHL, a forward, can also be included Nora Tulus and defender Ronja Savolainen.
– I expect leadership from them in games and outside of games without putting them on a podium any more. I hope to see some strong performances and some good football. Yes, power points are also valid.
This time the tournament will be played with only three teams, as the Olympic qualifiers are taking place in Sweden at the same time.
– We would have liked to have played three games, but on the other hand, the players have a long season behind them. I think two games is optimal for us in this situation.
Finland will face Switzerland on Thursday, July 6 and the Czech Republic on Friday, February 7.
