The FBI searched Donald Trumps mansion in Florida

According to a source from the AP news agency, the federal police were looking for classified documents that Trump is suspected of illegally taking out of the White House.

Agents of the US federal police, the FBI, have searched the home of the country’s former president Donald Trump’s mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump tells about it in a statement published on his Truth Social platform.

– After cooperating with state authorities, this unannounced raid on my home is unnecessary and inappropriate, says Trump in his statement.

Trump says that in connection with the search, among other things, his safe was opened.

– This is a weaponization of the justice system and an attack by radical left-wing Democrats who are desperately trying to prevent me from running for president in 2024, Trump says.

CNN reports that Trump was not present at his Mar-a-Lago estate when federal police raided it.

The search is likely related to classified White House documents

According to a source from the AP news agency, the FBI investigated whether Trump had illegally taken classified documents out of the White House.

Trump’s son Eric Trump told Fox News that the FBI was looking for documents sought by the US National Archives.

The FBI has not confirmed the information and has not said what exactly the search is about.

In April, anonymous sources familiar with the matter said that the US Department of Justice, at the request of the National Archives, is conducting an investigation into the documents that Trump is said to have taken to his Florida home.

According to the law, the documents should have been handed over after the end of Trump’s presidency.

In February, Trump reportedly returned a dozen boxes of White House documents, some of which were classified documents.

Former President Trump’s actions are currently being investigated elsewhere as well.

Several of Trump’s advisers and aides were subpoenaed to testify at hearings in June, which sought to determine whether Trump himself or his allies had any role in planning or inciting the attack on the US Capitol in the epiphany of 2021.
