It was in January that a ten-year-old boy died after being found badly injured in an apartment in Rosenlund. The father of the boy is in custody and suspected of the murder of his own son.
Previously, a minor psychological examination, a so-called paragraph-7 examination, was carried out on the man, and it showed that there may be a psychiatric disorder. The district court then decided to conduct a larger forensic psychiatric examination, where the person is examined for a longer period of time.
Now the larger forensic psychiatric examination shows that the father has a serious mental disorder and that there is a risk of relapse into serious crime. The Swedish Forensic Medicine Agency also assesses that the man may need forensic psychiatric care.
Prosecution postponed
The indictment has previously been postponed and on March 8 the prosecutor requested an extension of the indictment again.
– I request an extension because the preliminary investigation is not complete, says Anna Lapinska, prosecutor.
The new date for when charges must be filed at the latest is April 5.
