As expected, the conservative CDU/CSU will be the largest party in the German EU elections – but the far-right AFD will be the second largest, despite several scandals during the election campaign.

According to a polling station survey on German television, the CDU/CSU gets 30 percent against 16 for the AFD. The Social Democratic SPD has to settle for 14 percent against 12.5 for the Greens.

The liberal FDP lands behind at 5 percent, the newly formed left-wing movement BSW at 4 percent and the left-wing party Die Linke at 3 percent. The pan-European party Volt also seems to make a surprisingly good choice with 3 percent.
