  • You might especially recognize Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins. Purnell played the lead role Dolce in Kick-Ass 2 and was the voice for Jane in Invincible. Goggins is best known for his roles as villains and nasty guys, such as Venus Van Dam in Sons of Anarchy, Sheriff Chris Mannix in Hateful Eight and Sonny Burch in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

A canine companion, CX404, will also appear in the series.

Who is directing the series? The creators behind the series are Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who were already responsible for the hit series Westworld. The executive producers also include Bethesda employees, such as boss Todd Howard.

Plot: How close is the series to the games and what is it about?

How close is the Fallout series to the games? The Fallout series takes place in the year 2296 and therefore after all games. Accordingly, the things you experienced in the games have already happened.

This is the timeline of the Fallout games:

  • Fallout 76 – Year 2102
  • Fallout 1 – Year 2161
  • Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel – Year 2197-2198
  • Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel – Year 2208
  • Fallout 2 – Year 2241
  • Fallout 3 – Year 2277
  • Fallout: New Vegas – Year 2281
  • Fallout 4 – Year 2287
  • Fallout Series – Year 2296
  • Otherwise the series has nothing to do with the games. According to Todd Howard, the series will not simply retell the games, but will have its own storyline. Accordingly, you experience a new story.

What is the Fallout series about? Lucy, a resident of Vault 33, must leave her safe bunker to save her father. She gets to know the post-apocalyptic America around Los Angeles and meets the inhabitants of the new world: factions like the Brotherhood of Steel, ghouls and mutated creatures like RAD cockroaches and more.

In terms of feel, however, the series should be very close to the feel of the games, such as making some biting comments on social and political issues and being filled with dark humor.

According to his own statements, Jonathan Nolan himself is a fan of the series and has played at least parts 3, 4 and New Vegas. He says you can tell straight away whether the “feeling of the games” is really there. The first impression from MeinMMO author Christoph Waldboth is definitely very positive: Why I believe that the Fallout series will be the next really good video game adaptation after The Last of Us
