The Fallout series is well received – but the boss has bad news for everyone who hopes for more

The new Fallout series has been available on Amazon Prime since April 11th. The reviews are almost entirely positive and in the high range. The Bethesda boss, Todd Howard, has now been asked about possible further projects – but apparently has nothing planned.

This is how the Fallout series arrives:

This is what the boss says now: In an interview with IGN, Bethesda boss Todd Howard talked about possible further projects. Bethesda holds the rights to the Fallout franchises such as The Elder Scrolls and the new Starfield.

The Fallout series itself will almost certainly get a second season (via GameStar). But we don’t yet know when that will happen. However, Howard gives a pretty clear rejection of further projects:

Nothing is in the works. Everyone asks me about Elder Scrolls and I keep saying no […] This one [die Fallout-Serie] came from a: “We think things are coming together into a quality thing.” It wasn’t forced. It was kind of a natural relationship and, “Hey, that sounds really cool.” Versus, “We should do a series.”

However, Howard also emphasizes that he cannot see the future. At least he had a lot of fun producing the Fallout series.

“This is serial content that I would show up for”

Meanwhile, fans on Reddit are discussing what an Elder Scrolls series could look like and aren’t taking the whole thing particularly seriously. It says something like: “I can’t wait to see a 12 hour long four-parter where the protagonist only makes iron daggers. This is serialized content that I would show up for.”

There are tons of ancient memes coming back from the games, like quicksaves when the guard insults you again, just before you burn the entire city as punishment. Hardly anyone sees real content for an Elder Scrolls series.

Another user explains that such a series would hardly work. Providing a comprehensible summary for The Elder Scrolls is almost impossible. And the motif of a fantasy world is often represented.

Fallout, on the other hand, has a unique story that can be easily told. And you don’t see a post-Armageddon America every day: “It’s pretty unique.” And since the Fallout games themselves only explored parts of the world, there’s still plenty of room for new stories.
