Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, welcomed Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, at the entrance of the White House. SECURITY PRECAUTIONS INCREASED
It was stated that the security forces took additional precautions during the inauguration ceremony of Trump, who was subjected to an assassination attempt in July. On the day of the inauguration, where approximately 25 thousand security personnel will work, thousands of capital police officers as well as many people from the Secret Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Guard and other federal security units served.
OVER 100 CHECKPOINTS
On the day of the inauguration, where approximately 8 thousand National Guardsmen will be on duty, most of the main streets in Washington were closed.
Police and other security elements will establish more than 100 checkpoints in different parts of the city, and also use many K-9 dogs in their duties.
Security officials announced that a state-of-the-art police helicopter will be constantly circling the skies of Washington throughout the day and will be on duty to detect a possible attack or suspicious situation.
