Piracy costs Swedish companies a whopping 17 billion kroner every year. But it also affects the person who buys a product. Everything from clothes, shoes, watches, jewelery and make-up to electronics and toys are counterfeited.
– Now the pirated copies are incredibly much better. Of course, it is the online trade that has caused it, you click on an offer and do not have the same opportunity to look at the product, says Per Holgerson, an expert on pirated copies at the Patent and Registration Office.
– Everything that can be copied is copied.
Within the EU, several 100 million copies are stopped every year, according to Per Holgersson.
– These are enormous amounts we are talking about. It shows that there is a big organization behind this.
