Going forward, there will be Swedish soldiers in Latvia on a six-monthly basis.
– Now we are here for six months, then the Danes come for six months and then it is us again, says Karlis Neretnieks.
More Swedish soldiers will eventually participate in NATO’s deployments. Neretniekis tells us that the brigade that is set up in the Norrbotten regiment, I19, in Boden is supposed to be able to fight in northern Scandinavia.
– That is, northern Finland and possibly northern Norway. This is just the beginning, says Neretniekis.
