The experienced Wawrinka beat Ruusuvuori straight in three sets at

Emil Ruusuvuore’s streak at the Wimbledon tennis tournament ended in the first round.

Emil Ruusuvuori lost to the experienced, 38-year-old Swiss on the opening day of the Wimbledon tennis tournament to Stan Wawrinka batch 5–7, 5–7, 4–6.

In the opening set, the Finn led the fight with games 4-2, but succumbed to a 5-7 loss in 46 minutes.

Ruusuvuori had more break points than the other two in the first two sets, but in the deciding moments Emil fell into easy mistakes.

In the second set, Wawrinka didn’t get his first break opportunity until the eleventh game, which he took advantage of and moved to a 6–5 situation. By holding his serve, Wawrinka won the second set 7–5. The set lasted 44 minutes.

In the third set, Wawrinka immediately got off to a good start, and with the third break point broke Ruusuvuore’s pass. In the fourth game, the Finn broke his opponent’s pass for the second time in the match, rising to 2–2.

The final decision of the set and at the same time of the match was seen in the seventh game, where Ruusuvuori succumbed to several easy, i.e. unforced errors, despite their fierce fight. Wawrinka broke the pass on the fifth attempt.

The set was recorded 6–4 for the three-time grand slam winner, although Ruusuvuori managed one match point and got a break point in the last game.

Ruusuvuori is 45th on the ATP list, Wawrinka is 87th.
