The first season of the series, released on February 8, 2023 in streaming On Netflix, has risen in the top 10 many Arab countries, but also in France thanks to its current societal themes as the place of women in society, and the impacts of the Gulf War on the Middle East.

What is the intrigue of The Exchange ?

Munira and her cousin, Farida, are two women who live in the very patriarchal society of Kuwait in the 80s. As the threat of the Gulf War rumbles and that Saddam Hussein is about to invade the country, the Kuwaitian scholarship collapse. The two young women will however try what no woman has succeeded before: to make a place in the ultra closed club of the Kuwaiti traders, exclusively composed of very attached men to their privileges. Fortunately, Munira and Farida can count on their competence and their determination, even if they may lose everything overnight.
