The Parliament’s international trade committee has supported the approval of the package with a strong majority.
European Parliament vote today 35 billion in aid to Ukraine. It is a loan to support Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia’s war of aggression.
According to the Parliament, the loan is the EU’s share of the package agreed by the G7 countries in June, which includes a total of 50 billion dollars, or about 45 billion euros, loan to Ukraine. Repayment of the loan can be ensured with additional income available from the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia.
The Parliament’s international trade committee has supported the approval of the package with a strong majority. The council representing the member countries has also already shown its support for it.
The goal is for payments to Ukraine to be made during the next year.
