The EU Commission will express its opinion on the merger

(Finance) – The European Commission reserved for decide by August 3rd next on merger of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines and on the possible reduction of competition between South Korea and the Community area.

The EU Commission is analyzing the connections between the Asian country and destinations in France, Germany, Italy and Spainwithout neglecting the cargo component.

Korean Air has announced that it is working with the EU to provide all guarantees and obtain final approval of the merger. The goal, declared last January by Walter ChoCEO of Korean Air, is to complete the merger by 2023. But in addition to that of the European Commission, the “go” of the United States and Japan is still missing.
