The Equality Authority on the abducted girls: “Scary”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The sisters, aged 12 and 14, are believed to have been taken out of Sweden against their will. Several people are in custody suspected of gross abuse of children.

Recently, the Equality Agency released a report in which they state that the abduction of children could have been prevented several times – if the authorities had intervened earlier. In many of the cases that the Equality Authority has gone through, the child has been subjected to honor suppression or other violence.

– All children who are exposed to honor-related violence and oppression have the right to receive the best available support and protection, says Mikael Thörn.

No comment from the municipality

A manager in the relevant municipality told SVT on Thursday that she cannot comment on individual cases based on confidentiality. She also does not have any information about whether similar events occurred during the time that children were cared for in the municipality.

In the clip, you can hear how Mikael Thörn at the Equality Authority reacts to the case of the abducted girls.
