The party’s local group leader Louise Erixon believes that it is good that the board resigned, as she believes that they are responsible for the poor result in the EU elections this spring.
– At the same time, I want to point out that we consider it both honorable and humble of the board to listen to the criticism by now leaving their seats available. They have my deepest respect for that decision, says Erixon.
Sources tell BLT that it is Louise Erixon’s return from maternity leave that caused the entire board to quit and not that they want to take responsibility for the poor result in the EU elections.
The Sweden Democrats became the largest party in the municipality in the 2022 election, but lost power when the Moderates chose to govern with the Social Democrats, the Center Party and the Sun Party.
In the EU elections, it then backed down from 39 percent to 26 percent.
– The board was responsible for organizing the election campaign and that they did not carry out that mission in a satisfactory manner, says Louise Erixon
On Sunday, a meeting was held with the board, where they are said to have been severely criticized.
– They thought it was enough with the crap they had to take on Sunday and decided collectively to drop out, says a source to BLT.
