The End of Sylvanas – Forsaken get new crest without their icon

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

New tabards have been found in the World of Warcraft game data. The Forsaken finally seem to break away from Sylvanas.

Sylvanas Windrunner’s betrayal of the Horde is still in the bones of some WoW fans. The Forsaken in particular – i.e. the undead – also had to accept the loss of their beloved leader, who has watched over them in the Undercity since the vanilla days of World of Warcraft. However, with patch 10.1 Embers of Neltharion, time seems to be moving on as new tabards have appeared in the game data.

What was discovered? In the patch 10.1 game data, wowhead’s dataminers have discovered some new tabard designs. The most conspicuous bears the name “inv_tabard_undercityforsaken_b_02” – it can therefore be associated with the forsaken of the undercity.

The front of the tabard shows a skeleton skull with green eyes and a circle from which five arrows lead away. The five arrows could be symbolic of the Desolate Council – this is the new Forsaken leadership that emerged at the end of Shadowlands.

The Forsaken seem to want to detach themselves completely from Sylvanas and go their own way in the future.

Was more found? Interestingly, a higher resolution version of the old Undercity tabard was also found in the same update. The original design of the crest, with the broken mask and the three arrows, was also found in the game data.

One theory is that both tabards will be used in the future. Thus, there may still be Sylvanas loyalists, or those who disagree with the Desolate Council may wear the crest as a sign of protest. So far, however, this is only speculation.

Can players wear the crests? So far, by the way, there are no items in the game data that are associated with this look. This could mean that the tabards will only be worn by NPCs for the time being and not by players.

It remains to be seen how Blizzard will use the tabards and whether they will also be made available to Forsaken players. However, it is likely that this will not be the case in patch 10.1.
