Three years ago, the Emperor provided some of the spookiest minutes we’ve ever seen from a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker. Now stands Palpatine’s return Celebration. The Sith will appear in the second season of the animated series The Bad Batch. He even appears briefly in the first trailer.
How big the role of Palpatine is, is unclear. Since The Bad Batch is set after the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and dated Rise of the Empire told, it could well be that the villain appears several times as a sinister shadow shaping the galaxy according to his ideas.

Aside from Palpatine, the trailer for The Bad Batch season 2 shows us the titular team in a slightly different form. Since Order 66, the genetically engineered clone troopers on the run. Omega, the youngest member of the group, has also aged visibly – and now even wears a helmet.
The Bad Batch isn’t the only animated series to make waves at Star Wars Celebration. With Tales of the Jedi became a completely new project presented, which also features some well-known characters. Specifically, we can look forward to young versions of Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu and Count Dooku.
The second season of The Bad Batch starts in Fall 2022 on Disney+.
