Both the children’s and adult emergency departments are granted camera surveillance, but in October the Swedish Data Protection Authority, IMY, rejected the region’s application for round-the-clock camera surveillance even in emergency X-rays. It was only allowed to happen when an assault alarm was activated.
The region appealed on the grounds that the X-ray is located between the receptions and that there are therefore more people moving there, and that there have been more threats in recent years.
IMY has subsequently changed its opinion and the administrative court therefore approves the monitoring.
