This week, an email from a sender that pretends to be Ikea has begun to flourish in Swedes’ inboxes.

News24 Can confirm that the email is sent out several times to the same e-mail addresses-and manages to get through the spam filter in Outlook and Google. This means that the mailing dips right into your usual inbox, which can give it a more credible impression.

“Urgent: You miss great rewards” it says in the subject line in the Ikea scam.

Then follows a relatively short email where the recipient is said to have a chance to win a 10-part set with cook vessels from Le Creuset. The market value of the goods is around SEK 20-25,000.

Does this email from “IKEA” look familiar? Make sure not to follow any of the links. The best thing, to be on the safe side, is to delete it at once.

It is not Ikea that is the real sender, and the risk is imminent that the fraudsters will try to deceive sensitive information from you.

“Unfortunately, there are many fake campaigns where well -known brands are abused to mislead people, unfortunately Ikea’s brand is used in them. The campaigns figures in mail, sms and in social media and can be about alleged gift cards and value coupons. Many times are requested sensitive information or any type of payment, something IKEA would not do. ”
