The government has withdrawn the previous proposal for electricity support for companies as it would have violated EU rules on state aid. Svenska Kraftnät has now been tasked with making a new application to the Energy Markets Inspectorate, which must be completed by January 4, 2023.
It remains unclear when a decision on support can be made – at the same time that the high electricity costs are causing problems for many companies.
