At the end of the group phase which has just ended on Tuesday, April 19, in Cairo, we know the eight qualified for the quarter-finals of the second edition of the Basketball Africa League.

They were 12 teams involved in this group phase of the Basketball Africa League 2022, a pan-African competition created by the NBA and the International Federation (FIBA). Eight won their ticket for the final phase scheduled for May 21-28, in Kigali, Rwanda.

Among them, four obtained their qualification at the beginning of March, in Dakar, at the end of the Sahara Conference: Rwanda Energy Group, US Monastir (Tunisia), AS Salé (Morocco) and SLAC of Guinea. Fifth and sixth of this group, the Mozambicans of Beira and the Senegalese of the DUC fall by the wayside.

A Cameroonian team in the top 8

These four teams have just been joined by their counterparts from the Nile Conference, whose last match took place this Tuesday, April 19, in Cairo. We find defending champion Zamalek, Petro de Luanda (Angola), the Armed Forces and Police (Cameroon) and the Cape Town Tigers (South Africa). With just one win, South Sudanese Cobra Sports Club and Congolese BC Espoir Fukash are eliminated.
